There really isn’t a more comforting breakfast snack than eating a nice warm piece of banana bread!
Now I love banana bread but I also love me some peaches!
Take banana bread and add peaches to it and you have a big hot loaf of Peach Banana Bread!
For this bread I love to use canned peaches.
You could use fresh peaches if you prefer but I normally whip this bread up whenever I have super ripe bananas and often it’s not peach season so canned peaches are perfect!
Don’t forget that to make the best banana bread you want super, super, super ripe bananas!
I always pick up organic bananas when I go grocery shopping.
If I am not making bread, I am freezing bananas to make smoothies.
Now for the bread it’s super simple and it’s the perfect easy snack to get the kids involved in making.
First, cream butter and sugar until nice and fluffy.
While you’re creaming the butter and sugar you can let the kids get busy by mashing up the bananas.
Make sure you leave a little chunk in the bananas because we want that texture in the finished product.
Next, sift your dry ingredients together and set them aside.
Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla, and chunky bananas to the cream/butter mixture.
Mix it up but don’t over mix.
Lastly, add the dry ingredients to the batter reserving about 3 tablespoons of dry ingredients to mix with the diced peaches.
Mix the drained diced peaches with the dry flour mixture and fold into the batter.
Bake and make your cream cheese glaze while the bread is baking.
Allow the bread to cool and drizzle with glaze and top with even more peaches.
Serve with extra glaze on the side.
