Crispy chicken, marinated and fried to perfection with an Asian slaw that adds the perfect crunch and twist to this delicious sandwich.
All of this goodness placed on a buttery, toasted bun.
I am so excited about my Fried Chicken Sandwich Asian Style y’all!
First, one can’t ignore all of the hoopla surrounding fried chicken sandwiches?
Popeye’s chicken is at the corner of my house so believe me I’ve witnessed the hype and the long lines!
I’ll admit I did wait in line thirty minutes to try one of the famous Popeye’s chicken sandwiches.
I’ll give it a solid B+. The grade is reflective of the crispy coating.
The fact that I had to drive to three different Popeye’s thirty minutes from my house dropped their grade.
I want go into great details about this.
Let’s focus on making our own chicken sandwiches without leaving the comfort of our home?
I decided I wanted an Asian style sandwich.
Actually, it was my Baby Girl Summer’s idea.
She called me from college saying Ma’ can you please make me a fried pork chop sandwich, on toasted brioche, with Asian slaw, and sweet and sour sriracha mayo?
Summer was upset because the school cafeteria claimed they were serving this sandwich and when she got there it was nowhere to be found.
Of course I agreed to make my baby the sandwich! Anything for the spoiled princess.
I said Summer how about I make it with chicken instead of pork?
Summer loves chicken!
This is how this sandwich came to be y’all!
Don’t worry! I promise to give you my southern fried chicken sandwich recipe next time.
I had to make my baby happy first. Although, Summer’s at school and didn’t get to taste this big bite of deliciousness.
I sent Summer a picture of the sandwich and she called me and said really Ma?
I guess I’ll bite the phone, since I can’t technically eat the sandwich.
I promised to make it for her when she comes home to visit soon.
I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did?
