Retro Feast!
Now for the dilemma, I live in Las Vegas! Not only do I live in Las Vegas, I just moved here, and didn’t have a clue about where to find a Jewish Deli. And that’s what Facebook friends are for!
I posted a call to action, for a Jewish Deli in the Desert! All my foodie friends responded with a quickness, and that led me to Greenberg’s Deli, inside the New York, New York Hotel.
By Friday night, I was eating on loads and loads of juicy pieces of pastrami. And let’s not forget about the pickles…I ate five pickles and no, I am not ashamed!
Then I ate loads of potato salad, I am not sure what’s in Greenberg’s Deli potato salad, but I ate my potato salad and Big Goo’s.
And this leads me to my craving for today. I was so into eating all those pickles and pastrami, I forgot to order my Root Beer Egg Cream Soda.
I started with Fox’s U-bet Chocolate syrup, yep…got to keep with tradition. Pour the syrup in a glass, I added about 3 tablespoons, I was cutting back after all that pastrami over the weekend.
Next, I added about 1/2 cup of milk and then I added about 6 ounces of root beer soda. Traditionally, seltzer water is used, I didn’t have any, and who doesn’t love root beer.
Now, stir, stir, stir….Top with some Truwhip, whipped creme topping and it’s time to drink up!
