It’s Day 2 of Slow Cooker Week and I am excited to present to you, my Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken Wings.
These wings are the perfect slow cooker appetizer for your next party.
I took chicken drummettes and marinated them in a sweet and tangy sauce, that has pineapple juice, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar vinegar, and lots of spices.
I marinated my wings overnight but if you’re in a rush, try to marinate them for at least four hours.
I placed the wings in the slower cooker and cooked for 5 hours on high.
Next, I transferred the wings to a baking pan, basted them with some reserved marinade and broiled them for 5 minutes on each side, giving the wings a nice crispy texture.
Look what we have created. These wings are sweet from the pineapple juice and tangy from the vinegar based marinade.
I loved the taste of these wings, but no one loved them more than Big Goo…I had to tell him, this makes four servings, not one!

Thank Tee…I like to mix it up…sometimes I add a habanero pepper to really take it to another level…and I will add allspice about a teaspoon and use it like a “mock” jerk marinade…oh and lime juice…whatever I have in stock…I will use…lol…to change things up a bit…and oh smoked paprika is always a winner in my book..

I am BACK with the results — soooo good. It just so happens that three wings were left over…. (4 servings, you say… hmmm we just about two 😉 …. ) and my husband reported to me last night that the wings were even BETTER after they had been sitting out (covered) for awhile… and I was asked to make them again for the BOC (breakfast of champions… AKA sunday football breakfast) so I guess I’ll marinate today, cook tonite and he can reheat those puppies up in the AM (or not!). THANK YOU!!!
