Teriyaki Meatballs

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons creole seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • extra virgin olive oil to saute
  • cooked rice
  • green onions to garnish

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth, low sodium
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix all meatballs ingredients together in a large bowl.
  3. Form into meatballs and set aside.
  4. Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat, add meatballs and saute for about 2 minutes on each side to brown.
  5. Place pan into oven and bake meatballs for 15 minutes.
  6. While meatballs bake bring sauce ingredients to boil for about 5 minutes.
  7. Pour sauce over meatballs and bake 15 minutes more.
  8. Toss to coat and serve with rice.
