Today’s recipe came about due to the fact that I love pretty drinks but without alcohol.
My Hurricane Mocktail provides me with beauty and it doesn’t hurt that it taste delicious!
No worries you can always add rum to bring it back to whence it came.
Due to the fact that I don’t drink alcohol and this is for my baby girl and I we’re gonna forgo the rum y’all.
First, let’s start with the ingredients.
I have a mixture of passion fruit, orange, pineapple, lemon, and lime juice.
Don’t forget the grenadine!
I also used a little sprite to give it a fizzy kick.
I had sprite in the refrigerator and said why not throw a little in?
You could use carbonated water but I don’t drink that stuff.
Did I mention that my mama was a professional bartender when I was growing up?
She hates when I tell people. So anyway, YES, my mama used to flip them dranks. lol
She’s still the bartender at all of the family events even to this day.
Mama still makes the prettiest drinks around.
She also was a professional baker too.
So there’s that mama.
I don’t drink because it’s never been my thing.
I don’t eat many sweets because my mama kept desserts around and I suffer from dessert burnout.
Enough of talking about my mama. I expect a phone call when she reads this story.
I want go into how when I tried a drink with alcohol last year, my mama called me fussing.
Yes, I have a twenty year old daughter.
Yes, my mama’s a great grand ma’!
Yes, I’m the only person in my immediate family who doesn’t drink.
Yes, that’s rich coming from a former bartender!!! lol
My mama said Lisa, I know you ain’t taking up drinking?
I said mama it was one sip, I didn’t like the taste, and it made me feel weird.
She said good! I hope it gave you a headache so you want try it again.
I said okay smother mother! lol
I am about to be in so much trouble.
Okay, back to the subject at hand.
Just mix everything together in a big pitcher, serve over ice, and garnish with cherries and pineapple.
I never add ice to the pitcher because it waters the drink down.
We can’t have that people!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
4 cups passion fruit juice
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice
2 cups sprite
1 cup simple syrup (recipe below)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup lime juice
1/2 cup grenadine syrup
maraschino cherries and pineapples to garnish
For the simple syrup:
1 cup sugar, granulated
1 cup water
Add sugar and water to a sauce pain over medium heat, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer until all the sugar is dissolved, cool completely.
Mix all the ingredients together in a large pitcher. Stir well.
Serve over ice, garnished with cherries and pineapple to pretty it up!
