Can you believe it folks, it’s raining in the desert!
Yes, it’s still over 100 degrees but the pouring rain messed up my plans for grilled hot wings.
Last night I marinated my Spicy Baked Hot Wings in loads of hot sauce, a little butter and lots of wonderful spices.
I had big plans to grill these babies up but the rain said “I don’t think so!”
That leads me to my oven, I decided to change my plains and make Spicy Baked Hot Wings which turned these beauties into nice and crispy bites of spicy joy.
It only takes an hour and I turn them after 30 minutes to make sure both sides becomes crispy!
Oh yeah, you need plenty of my buttermilk ranch dressing for dipping people!
What’s a wing without ranch dressing, it’s just chicken folks, just chicken.
And if you really want to kick up the dressing, add about 1/2 cup of blue cheese to the recipe.
That’s enough talking, it’s time to eat and hopefully this rain disappears so I can get back to grilling!

These look great! My kids would love them.
Thank you Peter, they’re delicious!
Would you tell me the brand of hot sauce and the Creole seasoning? I don’t use these and I wouldn’t know where to begin… Thank you. The wings look delicious
My favorite! They look really good!
Thank you Stephanie!

So glad you enjoyed them Stephanie!!! Thanks so much for trying my recipes.

This is so easy, I love it! Wow! I actually never thought to use all powders instead of fresh garlic, ginger etc (it’s the Japanese in me!), I’ll give this a go. 1 cup of tabasco? Seems like a lot – is this insanely spicy? Or maybe tabasco here in Australia is much spicier than in the states.
Hello Nagi, it’s not spicy to me, but I love spicy food. You could reduce the hot sauce or always add melted butter to the marinade to reduce the amount of spiciness.
What a yummy spice blend on these! I totally love the idea of grilling them, but living in Ohio, I sure know about having to punt when it suddenly starts raining unexpectedly! Perfect idea to bake them instead! They look phenomenal, especially with the ranch (and the added blue cheese for sure! 😀 )! Pinning! 😀
Thanks Shelley!
Do you put the chicken on a lined cookie sheet? And did you have an issue with smoke in the oven while they’re cooking? Because I baked some in the oven on a baking rack on a cookie sheet and my smoke alarm kept going off from the wings dripping into the pan. Thanks.
Hello Joyce,
No, I didn’t have any smoke issues. I used a cookie sheet that had a lip on it, like a sheet pan. There were no drips. Maybe even try a casserole dish lined with foil and that could help with the drips. Hope this helps, Lisa
