I am really excited about today’s recipe!
Not only am I entering the Country Crock #WhenWeBake recipe contest Celebrating Moms, I also get to eat this delicious burger in the process.
My Baked Butter Burger is the bomb-diggity!
Yes I said Baked Butter Burger!
When I make this burger I normally used Country Crock® Spreadable Butter with Canola Oil.
Due to the fact that my grocery store was out of stock I decided to substitute with Country Crock® Simply Delicious™ Spread.
Regardless of which spread you go with, you’re going to have delicious results!
Everyone has a secret burger ingredient!
My secret burger ingredient is caramelized red onions.
I took a well chopped red onion and caramelized it using my spread.
Don’t forget to allow the caramelized onions to cool before adding them to the raw meat.
Take ground beef or turkey and mix with the caramelized onions and my special spice blend.
Mix the meat well and place into a buttered casserole dish.
Top the meat with more butter spread.
The top of your meat should look like a frosted “butter” cake, lol!
This is a really simple burger recipe and can be mixed up the night before and popped in the oven the next day.
Bake the burgers at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and top with your favorite cheese.
I placed the burgers under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
Serve loaded with your favorite condiments!
Enjoy.

It looks yummy but why didn’t you use real butter ? This seems to be a trend now with butter burger restaurants opening up.
I think she used butter spread instead of real butter because she was entering the recipe in a Country Crock recipe contest.
Yes Who but Country Crock does make real butter spread, but the grocery store was out.

Made this last night. I used 85/15 beef and had still had ALOT of pan grease and shrinkage, I drained it prior to putting my cheese on it. The family loved it!!! It’s a keeper and will be making it again. My grocery store did not have the Country Crock recommended so I used the Bordens spreadable butter.
Glad you enjoyed it Brandy! Yes, the meat shrinks and beef will produce more grease than turkey.
They did shrink up a lot. But oh my
They are delicious! I had to use Land o lakes spreadable with canola. We did not have the country crock at my store either. Served them with swiss cheese and sweet pickles on Kings Hawaiian rolls.. Delicious!!!
Yum Nicky! I must do the Swiss cheese for my husband next time.
Can you use real butter?? I once had Olivio butter spread and I had an allergic reaction to it!! These sound yummy and I’d lov to make them! So is it ok and will it work in the recipe to use real butter?? Thank you
Hello Roe, I put a link to the butter spread in my post. The grocery store was out of the all butter spread so I went with the other natural spread they had available.
Could you weight the meat down with a skillet or aluminum covered bricks to reduce shrinkage? And also use a broiler pan with slits/drip pan to decrease grease? Thoughts and cannot wait to try! Yum
If you choose to Melissa. I didn’t do all that and I just drained the little grease and topped with cheese.
My peanut better cheesecake is a hit with family members every holiday season
Lol at just how many times you had to re-explain about the butter. Your a trooper for keeping your cool! 🙂
Thank you Alicia! LOL
Have you tried grilling these? I’m looking for camping recipes and these sound delicious.
Hello! Saw this on social media a few weeks ago and plan on trying this recipe on Saturday for ladies night at my house! I can’t wait to try this! Thanks for the recipe!
Can these be cooked in the slow cooker
Hello Tammy, I would not cook this in a slow cooker.
Could you keep baked burgers. Without cheese in crockpot on warm until serving time and add cheese then? Cooking for a crowd
Hello Carol, I don’t know how that would work with the bun. You can most likely do the patties but not the bun.
I’m trying to decide if people can’t read, don’t pay attention or are just dumb. Made this tonight and it was most excellent! I used real butter because we are 50 miles from a grocery store and it was just fine. We are cattle producers so we eat our own grass fed and finished beef. It is super lean (probably 99/1) so there was no grease! Just a quick plug for small family owned American farms and ranches….anyone who doesn’t like fatty ground beef needs to look at purchasing a half or whole grass fed and finished steer…market price plus processing is a lot at one time but still way cheaper than buying from the grocery store over the course of the year and you KNOW it is good meat! Thanks for the recipe, it was delicious!
Thank you Deb, I agree!
This looks likes a quick and simple recipe.
Ilike the pan version then I can portion my sizes better! Thank you!
You’re welcome, enjoy Rubina!
This pork roast is delicious ! Hubby said only make it this way from now on! Didn’t understand the “veggies” as parsley is a veggie? So skipped that. Tonight I am using the leftover roast, simmered in homemade taco seasoning, onions, garlic, peppers, tomatoes, and a little leftover rice. Added cheese and olives and oiled the tortillas and baked and by 375. Made guacamole. SO GOOD!
Sounds great, I’m going to make this soon. You are a very patient person. God bless you.
This looks awesome, but I would use 100% real butter, not a spread. Shedd’s Country Crock, a product of Unilever USA, is a margarine spread made with a vegetable oil blend, water, milk and other additives. The company does offer one product that includes real butter, Country Crock Spreadable Butter With Canola Oil. So even their butter spread has canola oil mixed in.
Still, even knowing that, I would totally make this, just with real butter!
ok…I’ll play…real butter…real butter..real butter….just kidding…they sound delicious…I bet your family couldn’t believe it’s not butter…..
LOL Steven!
Sounds like a really good recipe! I think I’m going to add this to my menu for next week. Now to decide which recipe to cut to make room for it… lol
Enjoy Maeve
Thank you Vanessa!
Go for it Averie, you could do 7 eggs, LOL.
