If it’s smothered and Creole, we all know it taste real good!
That’s why my Smothered Creole Brussel Sprouts with Bacon is such a big hit in my family.
I love brussels sprouts and I love bacon, which makes this dish beyond delicious!
If you don’t eat bacon, then you can omit it, it would still taste good, just not as good as it taste with all this bacon.
After cooking all that bacon, I sauteed my onions and peppers in the bacon grease. YEP, in all that bacon grease.
This is a special occasion meal, like a wonderful Easter side dish, so use the bacon grease!
I added a little low sodium chicken broth, covered the dish and allowed it to steam slightly, just until the veggies are fork tender.
This dish turned out perfect.
You have the crispy bacon with the tender brussels sprouts, smothered in a light broth, it really is the ultimate side dish.
You must make this, I promise you want be disappointed!
Enjoy.

Thank you Bec.
Looks wonderful! And I’ll take bacon in mine, please! Yum!
Hi Jacklyn, just raw. Baking will cook them.
Hello Tumbleweed, Some times I mix up my own version depending on what mood I am in. I like Tony’s but if you use Tony’s don’t add any salt to your food. Zatarains is another great one which I love. Slap Yo Mama is good as well, just limit the salt. Emerils made an excellent creole seasoning. I am not sure if he still sells it.
